Google Does 13 Things Other Than Search!!!

 Google Search Features


Google have some features to get specialized or specific results.
  1. Weather: To see the weather for worldwide cities, type “weather” followed by the city and state, or city and country. i.e, for weather information in Dhaka, Bangladesh, type "weather Dhaka, Bangladesh" in the google search box and you'll see the weather condition of Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh.
  2. Calculator: To use Google’s built-in calculator function, simply enter the calculation you’d like done into the search box. suppose: 5*9+(sqrt 10)^3+ln(3E8)=
  3. Converter: You can use Google to convert between different units of measurement of height, weight, and volume among many others. Just enter your desired conversion into the search box and Google will do the rest. Search example: 1light year in km or -40 celsius in fahrenheit.
  4. Public Data: To see trends for population and unemployment rates of  states and counties, type "population" or "unemployment rate" followed by an US state or any county. i.e: GDP Bangladesh, or unemployment rate US.
  5. Synonym Search: If you want to search also for your search terms synonyms, place the tilde sign (~) immediately in front of your search term. ex: ~fast food
  6. Dictionary: To see a definition for a word or phrase, simply type the word “define” then a space, then the word(s) you want defined. Note that the results will define the entire phrase. example: Define ambiguous.
  7. Local Search(Not applicable in every country):
    • Local Search: If you’re looking for a store, restaurant, or other local business you can search for the group of business and the place. Google will return results right on the page, along with a map, reviews, and contact information available. ex: bank shamoli,Dhaka,Bangladesh.
    • Flight Tracking : To see flight status for arriving and departing U.S. flights, type in the name of the airline and the flight number into the search box. ex:Qatar airways 84.
    • Flight Schedule: To see flight schedules to or from a particular destination, type “flights from” or “flights to” followed by the city or airport of interest. You can also add another place with “to” or “from” and view the schedule for a specific route. [*Flight schedule data is provided by OAG and QuickTrip by Innovata] ex:flights from Dhaka and flights from Dhaka to Singapore
    • Currency Converter: To use Google's built-in currency converter, simply enter the conversion you’d like done into the Google search box and they’ll provide your answer directly on the results page. ex:150 GBP in JPY.
    • Movies Local Showtime: To get reviews and showtimes for movies playing near you, type “movies” or the name of a current film into the Google search box. If you’ve already saved your place on a previous search, the top search result will display showtimes for nearby theaters for the movie you've chosen.ex: movies Connecticut, and detail for Sherlock Holmes.
  8. Disease Information: To see information about a common disease or symptom, enter it into the search box and google will return the beginning of an expert summary. You can click-through to read the entire article. ex: Cataract.
  9. Map: Looking for a map? Type in the name or U.S. zip code of a place, and the word “map” . The search result will return a map of that place. Clicking on the map will take you to a larger version on Google Maps. ex: Sylhet division map and Dhaka map.
  10. Related Search: To search for web pages that have similar content to a given site, type “related:” followed by the website address into the Google search box. ex: related:www.facebook.com and related:wordpress.com.
  11. Fill In The Blank: Sometimes the best way to ask is to get Google to ‘fill in the blank’ by adding an asterisk (*) at the part of the sentence or question that you want finished into the Google search box.
  12. Package Tracking: You can track packages by typing the tracking number for your UPS, FedEx or USPS package directly into the search box. We’ll return results that include quick links to easily track the status of your shipment.

Last but not the least:
  • Graph: Google introduced graph for functions. You can plot any function in Google, you have to write: "graph for" key phrase before the function, and Google will return the plotted  graph in the result.You can plot multiple function in the same graph, you just have to separate the functions with commas. i.e. search the below query in google:
